About Your teacher

Melinda has been playing and learning the piano since she was 6 years old.

Melinda grew up in Taree, Australia and studying piano, she learnt under the AMEB exams program and successfully completed all grades to 8th grade. She has also studied music theory, the flute and drums. 
 

Melinda enjoys all styles of music ranging from Classical through to pop/rock. Her favourite artists to play include Billy Joel and Ben Folds. She considers it a privilege to teach children the joy of learning the piano and watch them grow in their musical abilities.

kIDS PIANO LESSONS

All private lessons are one to one tuition with your professional music tutor. This is the most common and preferred method of lessons as students benefit the most from having individual tuition. This is available to students aged 5 and up of all levels from beginners to advanced. Students advance and learn faster as the tuition is tailored for the student’s individual needs and styles. Their progress is more focused with greater results.

Music exams

Both NZMEB piano syllabuses can be taught: Performance Piano or Standard Piano. Our lessons will always cover all the required elements and the aim is always that the lessons will be fun and inspiring as well as educational. In addition to covering technique, music theory, sight-reading, aural, harmony and rhythm, we will choose repertoire for the music exams which resonates with the students

Adult Lessons

Don’t wait until something comes to your life and makes you think “I wish I have done this before”. If learning an instrument has always been in your bucket list, or if you learnt as a child and you have decided to come back to it, feel welcome to contact us and discuss the possibilities. Piano lessons can bring that enjoyment and fulfilment you always wanted in your life. Our adult lessons offer a friendly and informative style of learning in an array of styles that can include jazz, pop, modern, classical.
